There is a new playoff system going into effect this season. This year, the top two finishers in district play advance to the state playoffs, with the second place finisher facing another district’s champion, and the district champion facing a second place district team in the second round. This will add an additional week of competition to the MSHSAA 2008 football season.
As a result of the extra playoff games, practice will start earlier than in the past. The first day of practice can start on August 11th. Jamborees will be held across the state on August 22nd or 23rd. Week one of the season will be on August. 29th.
The Show-Me Bowl will be held on November 28th and 29th this season.
