The BlueJays turned in an awesome performance tonight against Catholic after a loss we all would like to forget about a week ago. Marshfield defeated the Irish 32-27 on a huge offensive night in the air and on the ground. Junior QB Peyton Bransfield was 10-24 passing and threw for 140 yds in the air and 2 TD’s. He also collected 75 yds rushing on the ground and found the end zone twice on a 2 yd run and a 4 yd run. Senior RB Zach Hildebrand had 29 carreis for 235 Rushing yds and a TD. He also had 1 Catch for 12 yds in the ballgame. Senior Wideout Brad DInwiddie had 47 yds and 2 TD’s in the game with one of them coming off a 4th and 30 situation. The Defense held fairly true tonight coming up with a few key stops of 3rd and 4th downs. Catholic came into the ballgame with a pretty potent run game, and they had there moments, but the Jays were able to disrupt there style of offense. Scott Chesbro for the Irish had 3 TD’s on the ground. Cody Brown, J.P. Jacks, Cody Grenninger, Evan Theobald, Justin Yarnell, Dewayne McCrosky, and Jared Washburn all had tackles in the contest. Theobald had a great defensive performance coming off an injury suffered in practice just last night. Marshfield was penalized 8 times in the ballgame to Catholics 3. Catholic also collected 6 sacks to Marshfield’s 1.
Marshfield’s record goes to 3-2 on the season and 2-0 in confrence play. Next week we travel to Rogersville for another tough confrence matchup. Rogersville is 4-1 on the season and has a confrence loss only to Bolivar. You can listen to it LIVE right here on MarshfieldWebTV.com starting at 7 P.M.
