The Marshfield Blue Jays beat the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish for only the second time in 6 years last night. The Final score was Jays 49 SC 14.
It didn’t take long for the Jays to get on the board. After taking the opening kickoff, Catholic fumbled on the first offensive play of the game and the Jays defense recovered. From there the Jays punched in the first score and led 8-0 in the opening minutes.
It was all Marshfield from that point on.
Dante Rebori, Springfield Catholic statistician and long time Fighting Irish supporter provided us with these stats after the game.
Marshfield had 45 carries for 333 yards on the ground and 4 TD’s.
Jr. Quarterback Jordan Dean had 17 carries 171 yards – 3 TD’s

Defensively the Jays allowed Catholic only 111 rushing yards on 28 carries, while giving up 208 yards through the air.
We jumped on at least 1 fumble, (I don’t have that stat) while intercepting Catholic 3 times.
