Tonight the Marshfield Blue Jays ranked #7 in the State of Missouri in Class 4 will host one of only two teams who have beat them this year. The Republic Tigers were able to beat the Jays in the semi-final round of the Blue and Gold Tournament just a few weeks ago. Marshfield had an opportunity to win that game in the final seconds but it was the Tigers who were able to get a last second basket to win the game 45-43. From there the Tigers went on to beat Hillcrest and the won the Gold Division Championship. Tonights game will be HUGE as far as District seeds are concerned in the upcoming post season tournament.
Also tonight Marshfield Schools will be having our cancer awareness "Warrior Night" for basketball. We want to pack the gym to help our boys "Team Up Against Cancer" and raise funds for the American Cancer Society. We would like everyone to wear blue!
There will be a "Shooting for the Cure" free throw contest, bake sale, and drawings for prizes donated by businesses and individuals in our community.
All of the money we raise will be donated to the American Cancer Society. There will be a time to recognize cancer survivors and honor those we’ve lost to cancer. Between the JV and Varsity games, the players will be walking people out for recognition, or in remembrance of, and presenting them with flowers.
We hope to see you in the gym, but if you cant make it in person you can watch the game right here!
