JV Lady Jays top Neosho

The Junior Varsity Lady Jays ran past the Lady Wildcats at Neosho 59-17 in nonconference basketball action on Thursday night.

Marshfield improves to 8-1 on the season. The Lady Jays led 13-2 in the opening moments and built a 27-4 lead after one period. The Lady Jays led 38-8 by intermission.

Chelsea Ahrens led a balanced Marshfield attack with 14 points, hitting 7-of-10 field goals in the game with 5 rebounds, 3 steals and an assist.

Hannah Keith added 13 points to the winning attack, hitting 3 treys in the game with 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

Kayla Baldwin hit all 4 field goals she tried in the contest, finishing with 8 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals for Marshfield.

Justina Burney scored 7 points with 4 rebound, a steal and an assist for the Lady Jays.

Jessie Bruton handed out a game-high 7 assists with 3 steals, scoring 7 points for the winners.

Kaitlyn Murgel also scored 5 points for Marshfield with a steal in the game.

Ashley Honeycutt added 4 points, 3 steals, 2 rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot to the winning effort.

Sarah Neptune scored a point for the Lady Jays with a steal, an assist and a rebound in the game.

Jessica Bussey led Neosho with 8 points and 2 rebounds.
