Marshfield now 14-0 after topping Morrisville (Rebroadcast Available)

Senior posts Sara Jane Plemmons and Lacey Boshe combined for 30 points and 15 rebounds, powering Marshfield past visiting Marion C. Early High School 62-44 Thursday night in nonconference basketball action.

The Lady Jays improved to 14-0 with the win. Morrisville fell to 3-6.

“They lost to quality opponents,” Marshfield coach Gary Murphy noted. “They lost to Republic, Skyline and Catholic to name three.”

Lacey Boshe finished with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field, including the only trey she attempted, with 7 rebounds, a blocked shot and an assist in the game.

Plemmons added 11 points, also hitting the only 3-point shot she tried in the game, with 8 rebounds, a steal and an assist.

Marshfield jumped out to a 16-8 lead in the first period, and the Lady Jays led 29-17 at intermission. Lacey Boshe and Plemmons each hit a pair of field goals, including a trey each, to help Marshfield quickly build a 20-point lead in the third period, which ended with Marshfield up 48-25.

Junior Morgan Smith added 10 points to the winning attack, hitting 5-of-7 field goals with 3 rebounds and an assist in the game.

Freshman Amanda Gourley scored 8 points, hitting a pair of treys in 3 tries with 2 assists and a steal in the game for the Lady Jays.

Sophomore Kasey Painter led Morrisville with 21 points, 8 rebounds, a steal and a block, hitting 8-of-13 field goals and all 5 free throws she tried in the game.

Sophomore Ashley Boshe added 6 points, 2 rebounds and a blocked shot to the winning attack.

Freshman Kayla Baldwin finished with 4 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists for Marshfield.

Freshman Alley Bruton also scored 2 points for the Lady Jays with 3 assists, 3 rebounds and a steal in the game.

Senior Kassie Hyde added 2 points and 2 assists to the winning effort.

Senior Jaysa Hartman handed out 2 assists with a steal and a rebound and senior Haley Diehl pulled down a rebound for Marshfield.

Junior Kayla Painter finished with 12 points, hitting 5-of-7 field goals for Morrisville, with 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

Rachel Phillips scored 5 points with 2 rebounds and 2 assists; Shelby Bailey added 2 points, a rebound and a steal; Stephanie Beavers scored 2 points with a rebound and Sydnie Wilkins and Shelby Skinner each scored 1 point with 2 rebounds for Morrisville.

Marshfield returns to action Monday at Pleasant Hope, and then the Lady Jays will host Bolivar in a key Central Ozark Conference opener on Jan. 10.
