Lady Jays roll past Waynesville (Rebroadcast Available)

The Lady Jays put on a clinic against visiting Waynesville on Saturday, rolling to a 71-39 nonconference basketball victory at Marshfield High School.

Marshfield improved to 18-0 on the season with the win, solidifying a number one ranking in the state Class 4 poll and the top ranking in the southwest Missouri poll with a win over Class 5 Waynesville, now 10-3 on the season and ranked 6th in southwest Missouri.

Marshfield made 8 treys, dominated the post, and held the high-scoring Lady Tigers to just 16 field goals in the game.

Marshfield led 10-0 before Waynesville finally scored after 6 minutes of play. Junior forward Anna Glenn hit three long bombs for the Lady Jays in the first period, which ended with the home team on top 15-6.

Marshfield led 30-19 at intermission before senior Lacey Boshe exploded for 12 points in the third period, hitting 6-of-7 field goals to spark a 30-12 run by the Lady Jays.

The final period went quickly with the turbo-clock running, and Marshfield sealed the deal with 17-of-23 shooting in the second half.

Lacey Boshe led the balanced Marshfield attack with 16 points in the game, making 8-of-12 field goals with 3 rebounds and 2 assists.

Junior forward Morgan Smith led Marshfield rebounding with 7 boards in the game, adding 13 points with 2 assists.

Senior forward Sara Jane Plemmons also scored 13 points for the Lady Jays with 5 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist, hitting 6-of-7 field goals in the game.

Junior Anna Glenn added 9 points, hitting 3 treys, with 2 assists and a rebound in the game for Marshfield.

Freshman Amanda Gourley also scored 9 points in the game, hitting 3 treys with 3 assists, 2 steals and a rebound for the Lady Jays.

Sophomore Ashley Boshe scored 6 points with 4 rebounds and an assist for Marshfield.

Senior guard Jaysa Hartman hit a trey with 2 assists and a rebound in the contest for the Lady Jays.

Alley Bruton scored 2 points with 2 rebounds and an assist for Marshfield while Kassie Hyde pulled down 2 rebounds and Hailey Diehl picked up a steal in the game.

Katie Pritchard led Waynesville with 13 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 steals in the game.

Simone Sullivan scored 7 points with 9 rebounds for the Lady Tigers.

Tasha Lord scored 10 points, Erica Combs finished with 4 points and Mariah Wilder and April Dowell each scored 2 points for the visitors.
