The Marshfield High School football Blue Jays will have a new challenge in 2008, with new foes, a new set of district opponents, and new opportunities to advance in the state playoffs.
"Everything is going to be more compacted," Marshfield coach Jack Randolph said. "We’ll start earlier, and everything will happen faster."
The Blue Jays will start practice on Aug. 11. Marshfield will travel to Camdenton for their Jamboree on Aug. 22
The season begins Aug. 29 when Marshfield plays host to Ava.
Week two, Marshfield will be at home again, against Monett on Sept..
Week three, the Blue Jays travel to Reeds Spring for COC action on Sept. 12
Week four, Marshfield will host Branson on Sept. 19.
Week five, Marshfield will play a COC game against new Small school league member Catholic, in Springfield on Sept. 26.
On Oct. 3, week six will find the Blue Jays in COC play at Rogersville.
Week seven, Marshfield will host Buffalo in another COC contest on Oct. 10.
Week eight, district play begins with the Blue Jays playing at Hillcrest on Oct. 17.
Week nine, Marshfield will host Willard in district play on Oct. 24.
Then on Thursday, Oct. 30, Marshfield will complete district and COC play against arch rival Bolivar in Marshfield.
This year, the top two finishers in district play advance to the state playoffs, with the second place finisher facing a district champion, and the district champion facing the second place team.
