Penalties and turnovers were the biggest obstacles for the Bluejays tonight as the Jays went 3 and out on thier first possession. The Jays had managed to stop the Liberators before a helmet to helmet personal foul extended the Bolivar drive, and they took the early lead 7-0. From the opening kickoff it was all Bolivar as they took advantage of back to back turnovers and built a 28-0 halftime lead.
Bolivar scored on their first drive of the second half but missed the extra point making the score 34-0. With less than a minute left in the game Keenan was able to hit Chris Bigley for a touchdown pass to make the final 34-7.
This season’s team will be remembered as a great football team that was devastated by injuries. Our congratulations go out to a group of kids who always fought hard and never quit, even when it would have been easy to do so. Players– your town is proud of your efforts.
