Homecoming 2007 didn’t go quite the way the Bluejays had it planned. In a conference game with Bolivar, the visiting team took the opening kickoff down the field and scored on the first drive of the game. The Liberators led 7-0.
On Marshfield’s second play from scrimmage, Chris Bigley lined up as a tight end, took the handoff from Drane and went 69 yards for a Marshfield touchdown. Marshfield was penalized for celebrating the touchdown and we missed the extra point making the score 7-6.
From that point on, all the scoring highlights belonged to Bolivar as they took the lead into halftime 24-6.
Both teams fought it out in the second half with no score. Bolivar improved to 4-2 on the season 3-0 in the COC. Marshfield is also 4-2 and 2-1 in COC play.
Next up for the Bluejays is the Buffalo Bison. That game will be on the road next Friday at 7.
