Lots of misinformation and confusion out there because of speculation in the Springfield media.  Here are the facts.

The Missouri State High School Activities Association has a specific set of criteria to determine seeds for football.  That set of rules we posted in an earlier story if you care to read them all.  Part of that process includes an opportunity for schools to appeal the points process if they feel the numbers do not represent the true seeding’s.  In this case Republic felt that they should be seeded ahead of Marshfield because they had beat us in head to head competition.  After Republic notified MSHSAA then both Republic and Marshfield get the opportunity to plead their case to the other teams in the district.  Each team, with the exception of Republic and Marshfield, then gets to vote on the said appeal.

After the votes come in , it was ruled by a 4-2 vote that the seeds will remain unchanged.

Here is Thursdays Schedule:

Webb City vs McDonald County

Hillcrest vs West Plains

Carl Junction vs Republic

Carthage vs Marshfield

All games will be played at 7 pm on October 31st, with the higher seed hosting.
