The Marshfield Ladies 4 x 800 relay team BROKE THE SCHOOL RECORD with a time of 10:34.03. Jessie Greer, Alley Bruton, Amanda Biggers, and Sara Jane Plemmons make up the fastest ever 4×800 team for Marshfield. CONGRATULATIONS Ladies!
The track meet that was held Saturday at R.A. Barr Athletic Stadium was interupted twice by lightning strikes, but after two seperate 30 minute delays the competition continued into the early evening. Teams from 14 schools made up the district.
The district consisted of teams from Ava, Bolivar, Buffalo, Eldon, Logan-Rogersville, Marshfield, Mountain Grove, Owensville, Salem, School of the Osage, Springfield Catholic, St. James, Versailles, and West Plains. The top 4 finishers in each event qualify to move onto sectional competition in Branson next Saturday.
Team standings for the boys were:
1st Place: West Plains 148
2nd Place: Osage 126
3rd Place: Owensville 75 Marshfield finished in 6th place with 54 points.
Team standings for the girls were:
1st Place: West Plains 151
2nd Place: Bolivar 122
3rd Place: Marshfield 99
Qualifiers from Marshfield include:
Jessica Stepp took 3rd in the long jump with 15’3.5".
Phoebe Letterman won the 100m dash with a time of 13.32.
Anna Glenn placed 1st in the discus.
Sarah Vrendenburg placed 3rd in the 3200m run.
Jesse Greer took 2nd and Serena Austin 3rd in the 400m dash.
Serena Austin also qualified taking 4th in the 200m dash.
The 4×800 team placed second they are Jessie Greer, Alley Bruton, Amanda Biggers, and Sara Jane Plemmons.
Justin Jones took 1st in the Long Jump with 20’6.5" and Alex Bartow placed 3rd with 20’5".
Jones also took 2nd in the High Jump 6′
Brad Dinwiddie finished 4th in the 400m dash.
The relay team of Alex Bartow, James Reece, Justin Jones, and Brad Dinwiddie qualified in two events. They won the 4x200m race with a time of 1:34.34 and took 3rd in the 4x400m.
