The Jays jumped out to a 19-8 first quarter lead against the 10-3 Poplar Bluff Mules, but led by only 1 at the half 31-30. In the 3rd quarter The Mules outscored us 23-12 to take a 53-43 lead, and went on to win 74-65.
Marshfield was led by 19 points from Sophomore Brady Welsh. Armstrong had 15, Summers 12, Wright 8, Diehl and Clift 5 each, and 1 from Clancy. The Jay’s record now stands at 8-8. Poplar Bluff improves to 11-3.
Next up for the Jays will be Thursday vs Fair Grove in the Bolivar tournament and will then play the host team on Friday. Saturday’s game time will depend on the results of the first two games.
