The 2008 version of your Marshfield Blue Jays went to Reeds Spring and handed them an old fashioned beating. 49-0 was the final score. The game never really was in doubt as your Jays led 12-0 at the end of the first quarter and 27-0 at the half. In the second half, the Jays were able to play a lot of kids as they added another 22 points to make the final 49-0.
The defense got their first shutout of the year and the first one since September 28th last year, when they beat Springfield Central 35-0. The defense has only allowed 18 points in the first 3 games of the season. The Jays have outscored their opponents in the first 3 weeks by the score of 106-18.
The offense pounded out over 350 yards on the ground and another 148 through the air to end the game with an astonishing 499 yards in offense.
