Marshfield took the opening kickoff and drove down the field to Willards 23 before turning the ball over. After Marshfield’s opening possession fumble Willard marched down the field and scored.
Willard scored the first 21 points of the game and led 21-0 at the half. Marshfield fought back after halftime getting as close as 27-14 with 6 minutes to go in the game, but the 21 point halftime lead was just to much to overcome and the final score was 40-20.
The Jays will face Republic on Friday in the home opener.
