The Marshfield Blue Jays outlasted the visiting Logan-Rogersville Wildcats finally. It took 3 Over Times to get it done. It was a back and forth battle all night long. The Jays led 19 to 12 after 1 but only took a 2 point lead in at the half. 31-29. Rogersville stormed out after the half and took a 47-44 lead after 3, but the Jays fought back to end the game in a tie after surviving a last second shot attempt from Rog. The score after 4 quarters was all knotted up at 56-56.
Rogersville would have the ball at with time running out 2 more times but each time the final shot attempt would not drop. The score at the end of the first OT was 65-65. The score after the second OT was 72-72. In the 3rd overtime the Jays finally pulled away even though 2 of our major contributers fouled out in the 4th quarter! Logan McAnarney fouled out first followed by Lawfton Summers. Summers was in action for the first time since early on in the season. At one point there was some doubt that he would be able to return at all this season, welcome back! His first few seconds into the game the Jays found him on the block, and just like before an automatic 2.
Unofficial scoring for the Jays goes like this
Armstrong 26, Wright 25, Welsh 15, Diehl 9, Summers 6, Clift 5, Clancy 2.
Wildcats
Beaver 38, Medley 18, Vineyard 5, Freeman 5, Gorman 4, Critten 4, Gipson 2, and Jenkins 2.
