The Lady Jays found themselves down 12 at halftime to a tough Miller Cardinal team, but came out on a 9-0 run in the 3rd quarter to get back into the game. Miller responded though and had a 51-41 lead at the end of 3. In the 4th quarter fans saw a lot of action. Marshfield went on a 11-0 run to take the first lead of the game 52-51 with 4:31 left in the game.
From that point on it was back and forth. Miller tied then took the lead with 2 free throws with 4:10 left to go. The game was tied at 57 with 2:44 left on the clock. It was tied at 60 with 1:25. And tied at 63 for the last minute.
Hannah Wilkerson hit the buzzer-beater after Miller through the ball in to her under their own basket with just 3 seconds to go. She was heavily guarded, flung the ball up underhanded, and it found its way in to win the game. Wilkerson ended the game with 36 points and she was 21 for 22 at the free throw line.
Blue Valley West tok 7th place over Harrison.
Joplin beat Har-Ber 63-53 for 3rd.
