Lady Jays ranked first in state

The Marshfield High School Lady Jays are the top ranked team in the state, moving to number one with their 17-0 season record after wins over state-ranked Bolivar and Republic.

According to the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association, the Girls Class 4 top ten with their team records heading into this week are: 1. Marshfield 16-0; 2. Bolivar 12-2; 3. Berkeley 11-2; 4. Platte County 12-0; 5. St. Joseph Benton 11-2; 6. Republic 12-3; 7. St. Dominic 12-0, 8. Jennings 13-1; 9. Dexter 10-2; 10. Cape Girardeau Notre Dame.

The Lady Jays will be at home Saturday afternoon for a triple header with Waynesville. The freshmen Lady Jays tip off at 1 p.m. with JV and varsity action to follow. The Marshfield basketball alumni will be honored during the games, and will play a fundraising contest following the varsity Lady Jays contest.
