Lady Jays roll at Pink & White (Rebroadcast Available)

The Lady Jays of Marshfield raced past host Greenwood High School 52-24 in the opening round of the 35th Annual Pink & White Basketball Tournament at McDonald Arena on Thursday.

Defending Pink & White champion Marshfield improved to 10-0 on the season with the victory. The second seed Lady Jays will play Friday at 7:30 p.m. against West Plains.

Marshfield jumped out to at 18-3 lead in the first period as senior Sara Jane Plemmons scored 8 points on 4-of-5 shooting. Plemmons and fellow senior post Lacey Boshe each scored 6 second period points and the Lady Jays built the lead to 32-10.

Plemmons finished the game with 17 points on 8-of-11 field goal shooting with 4 rebounds and a steal.

Lacey Boshe added 16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists to the winning attack.

Hailey Diehl, 5-5 senior guard, knocked down a pair of treys in the second half for Marshfield, and finished the game with 6 points, 2 assists and a steal.

Ashely Boshe scored 5 points with 5 rebounds and 2 assists for Marshfield.

Amanda Gourley added 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists to the winning attack.

Senior Jaysa Hartman pulled down 2 rebounds with a steal and assist for Marshfield.

Morgan Smith added 2 points a blocked shot and an assist to the winning attack.

Allie Bruton finished with 2 points, a rebound and a steal for the Lady Jays.

Kassie Hyde sparked a Marshfield defense which forced 18 turnovers with 3 steals and handed out an assist in the game.

Anna Glenn had a rebound, an assist and a steal and Kayla Baldwin pulled down a rebound and had a steal for Marshfield.

Madison Pulley finished with 13 points to lead Greenwood.
