Marshfield jumped out early on the Zizzers, but they fought back. Marshfield was amazing from the field as the team hit 16 3 pointers in the contest. Marshfield freshman Lauren Aldridge hit 8 three pointers and led all scorers with 27. Three other Lady Jays also hit multiple 3 poiners. Amanda Gourley added four 3’s and ended the game with 23 points. The Bruton sisters also each hit two 3’s apiece and ended the contest with 6 points each. Others scoring for the Lady Jays included Ali Van Diggelin with 2 and Maddie McCall with 1.
West plains stormed back after trailing 37-28 at the half but the Lady Jays answered when they needed to. With the game tied in the 4th quarter Marshfield Senior Amanda Gourley drove the lane, scored, got fouled and earned 3 the hard way to regain a 3 point advantage.
The Lady Jays were 7 for 10 from the free throw line– 6 for 8 in the final period to win the game.
