The Lady Jays softball team beat Hillcrest last night by the score of 5-2. It wasn’t easy. The Hillcrest Lady Hornets led after 3 innings 2-0, but the Lady Jays answered in the 4th. After being held to just 1 hit in three innings Marshfields bats come to life. Izzie Harrison, Zoe Bisby, Kennedy Deckard, Carley Stigall, and Skyler Collison all singled in the inning scoring 4 runs. Marshfield led 4-2 after 4. We added 1 more in the fifth when Bisby reached on an error and Kyla Williams made it count by slamming her pitch into deep left field scoring Bisby.
Marshfield Senior Paige Taylor pitched the entire 7 innings striking out 3 and allowing only 5 hits and 0 walks. The 2 runs that Hillcrest scored were both due to errors, so Taylors ERA for the game was 0.00
The Lady Jays get the win 5-2 and improve thier record to 1-1 after falling at Branson on Monday 2-1.
