Ozark jumped out early scoring three runs in the first inning and stretched that lead out to as big as 5-0 before winning the game 5-2.

Marshfield tried to fight back.  A big play in the game came in the fourth when Ozark was leading 4-0.  Marshfield had the bases loaded with one out and Lindee Clair at the plate.  Lindee laid down what looked to be a perfect bunt scoring Bigley from third.  After the cheering settled down, the ruling was made that the ball hit home plate.  Instead of the bases being loaded with one out and Marshfield trailing 4-1, baserunners had to return and Ozark’s picther was able to get Lindee out swinging.

I really feel that that play changed the outcome of the game.  Marshfield threatened again in the fifth, stranding three more baserunners.  We were able to score two in the top of the seventh, but came up short to lose to the Lady Tigers 5-2.

Ozark improves their record to 4-0.  Marshfield falls to 5-1.

The Lady Jays will play again on Thursday at Hollister.
