Marshfield survived a tough quarterfinal match with West Plains, winning 45-35 at the Greenwood High School Pink & White Tournament Friday night.
West Plains led on numerous occassions in the first half, which ended with Marshfield on top 18-17.
But the Lady Jays scored 20 third period points to break the game open as Amanda Gourley and Sara Jane Plemmons each scored 6 points in the stanza.
The Lady Jays improved to 11-0 on the season with the win, and the second seed and defending champions will play at 5 p.m. Saturday against either Ozark or Mount Vernon.
Top seed Republic will play 13th seed Parkview in the other semifinal Saturday.
Marshfield’s Sara Jane Plemmons finished with 15 points, hitting 5-of-8 field goals and 5-of-6 free throws in the game, pulling down 5 rebounds with 3 steals and an assist.
Junior Morgan Smith added 13 points, 3 steals, 2 rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot to the winning attack.
Senior Lacey Boshe led the Lady Jays on the board with 6 rebounds, scoring 2 points with 2 assists and a block.
Gourley finished with 6 points, 3 rebounds and an assist for Marshfield.
Jaysa Hartman added a 3-pointer to the winning attack with an assist and a rebound.
Alley Bruton hit the only shot she tried in the game, a trey, and had 2 steals for Marshfield.
Ashely Boshe finished with 3 points, 4 rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot for the Lady Jays.
Alisha Shipley scored 14 points to pace the Lady Zizzers with 5 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal. Jessi House scored 8 points and Keely Coldiron finished with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal for West Plains.
Sara Paschall finished with 4 points, 5 assists, 2 steals and a rebound for the Zizzers. West Plains fell to 6-4 on the season.
