Two very good teams faced off in Marshfield tonight and the Lady Mountaineers from Mt Vernon outscored our Lady Jays by 5. Marshfield led until the 3:06 mark in the 3rd quarter when the Mountaineers took their first lead at 37-36.
The Jays led 16-12 after 1, and had a 5 point lead at the half 31-27.
Mt Vernon outscored Marshfield 19-9 in the 3rd quarter to lead 46-40 after 3.
The Final Score 63-58.
Mount Vernon had 4 scorers in double figures. Danielle Goodman scored 16, MacKenzie Farmer had 15, and Amelia Bramer and Tamiaya Henderson each added 12.
Lauren Aldridge led all scorers with 25, freshman Sammy French had 8, Ali Van Diggelen scored 7, Makenna Smith and Kylee Murgel each had 5, Madison Clark had 4 and Lilia Theobald scored 2.
Next up for the Lady Jays will be Skyline on the road Thursday night.
