Ozark hits 13 treys at Marshfield (Rebroadcast Available)

Ozark rained on Marshfield’s Rally Day Friday night, pouring in 11 3-point shots in a 57-point first half on the way to a 90-64 Central Ozark Conference basketball victory over the Blue Jays.

Ozark, now 6-6 overall and 1-1 in the league, hit 6-of-7 treys in the opening period, building a 31-19 lead. The Tigers made 5 more treys in the second period, out of 8 long range attempts, earning a 57-37 lead by intermission.

Ozark wound up making 13-of-20 treys in the game. Isaiah Monroe hit 2, Ryan Holmes 3, Matt Jordan 4, and Seth Arnold 4 for Ozark.

Marshfield made 4 treys in the game, getting 3 from Nathan VanDiggelen, one from Justin Drane.

After the intermission, both teams went from halfcourt zone defenses to a man-to-man, and Ozark went inside to 6-4 junior Jordan Nuckolls. Nuckolls scored 15 points in the second half, and just missed a double-double in the game with 26 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and a blocked shot.

VanDiggelen led Marshfield with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists in the contest.

Justin Jones added 17 points, 5 rebounds and an assist to the Blue Jays effort.

Kelby Phelps finished with 15 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot for Marshfield.

Justin Drane scored 5 points for the Jays with 4 rebounds, 3 steals and an assist in the contest.

Cameron Keenan scored 2 points with 3 reb ounds, 2 steals, an assist and a block for Marshfield.

Charlie Williams also scored 2 points for Marshfield with 2 rebounds in the game.

Jordan Jones added 2 points and a rebound, Alex Bartow pulled down 2 rebounds and Jason Young and Derek Welch each had a rebound for the Blue Jays.

Jordan finished with 14 points, 6 assists, 7 rebounds and a steal for the winners.

Ryan Holmes added 13 points, 7 rebounds and an assist to the Tigers attack.

Seth Arnold scored 12 points, Will Austin finished with 7 points, Isaiah Monroe posted 6 points, Thomas Ligon scored 5 points, Alex Spencer finished with 4 points and Austin Holtzclaw scored 3 points in the game for the Tigers.

Ozark also won the JV game, posting a 58-46 COC win at Marshfield Friday.

Dylan Hord led the Tigers with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists.

Ozark led 13-10 after one period, but Marshfield cut the lead to just 26-25 at intermission.

The third period led to the Blue Jays demise as Marshfield scored just 2 field goals while falling behind 39-29.

Scott Ragsdale scored 14 points with 11 rebounds and 3 steals, posting a double-double to lead the Blue Jays.

Dwayne McCroskey just missed a double-double for Marshfield, scoring 10 points with 9 rebounds, 6 steals, 2 assists and a blocked shot in the game.

Ty Diehl added 8 points, 5 rebounds and an assist for the Blue Jays.

Matt Poole finished with 4 points, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 rebounds in the contest for Marshfield.

Jake VanDiggelen also scored 4 points for the Blue Jays with 2 rebounds in the game.

Charlie Williams scored 2 points, pulled down 5 rebounds, blocked 2 shots and handed out an assist for Marshfield.

Kelsey Hyde had a rebound and a steal for the Blue Jays.

Austin Holtzclaw scored 13 points with 9 rebounds for Ozark.
