Republic High School held visiting Marshfield scoreless until the final inning, earning a 9-2 Central Ozark Conference baseball victory on Wednesday, April 9.
Marshfield falls to 3-4 overall and 0-3 in the league with the setback.
For the second game in a row, senior Chris Arnold hit a home run in the seventh inning to provice the only Blue Jays runs.
Republic scored 3 runs in the second inning to take the lead, and 3 more runs in the third, going up 6-0. Stevens, the winning pitcher, worked 6 shut out innings and had 2 hits for Republic, including an extra base hit. Beal also had 2 hits for the Tigers.
Arnold finished with 2 hits for Marshfield, as did Garrett Cardwell.
Shaun Crawford started on the mound, and Garrett Cardwell pitched the final 3 innings for the Blue Jays.
Cameron Keenan and Chris Bigley each had a hit for Marshfield.
