At a special meeting of the Marshfield R-1 Board of Education held on Tuesday, February 20, the Board of Education selected Ronda Hubbard as the district’s next Activities Director and Transportation Director. Ms. Hubbard was selected from a pool of 35 applicants.
Hubbard is a graduate of Kickapoo High School and Missouri State University. She began her career in athletics as the head girls’ basketball coach at Springfield Catholic High School. In her three years leading the Lady Irish, her teams won two state titles and had a third place finish. She spent the next 22 years coaching women’s basketball collegiately. This included time at Southwest Baptist University, Rockhurst University (Kansas City), the University of Texas-Pan American, and Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) in Joplin. The bulk of her time was spent as Associate Head Women’s Coach at MSSU (13 years). She completed her college coaching career as the Head Women’s Coach at MSSU from 2013-2016 compiling a record of 57-25.
In 2016, Coach Hubbard left the collegiate coaching ranks to pursue her lifelong dream of being Athletic Director. She was selected to serve as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Grandview High School in Hillsboro, Missouri. During her two years there, she has led the Grandview athletic department through a growth and improvement process across all sports.
Ms. Hubbard has her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Health from Missouri State University, a Master of Science in Education from Southwest Baptist University, an Education Specialist Degree in Higher Education Administration with an emphasis in Athletic Administration from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, and Master’s in Education Administration from William Woods University.
Hubbard will begin her duties as Activities Director and Transportation Director on July 1, 2018.
