The Reeds Spring Lady Wolves came into Marshfield with a 7-1 record and something to prove.Â Marshfield was 6-1.
The Wolves jumped on top early with 2 hits and a score in the top of the 1st to take the lead 1-0.Â In the bottom of the first Ashton Worth answered with a home run over the fence in left center.Â It stayed 1-1 until the bottom of ther fifth.
In the bottom of the 5th Murgel was beaned by the pitcher to get on first.Â Back to back Sac’s by Campbell and Crowley moved her to 3rd.Â Then Morgan Blackstock got the RBI single to take the lead 2-0.Â The lead did not last long.Â In the top of the 6th Reeds Spring tied the game up again at 2.Â It was two -two until the 11th inning.Â
Reeds Spring scored 2 in the top of the 11th to go on to win the game 4-2.
Reeds Spring is now 8-1, the Lady jays drop to 6-2.
Marshfield will play next in Ozark on Friday night in the Ozark Tournament.Â We are the #2 seed in the toughest tournament in the state.Â The Lady Jays play Willard at 5 and will either play the winner or loser of the Carthage/Morrisville game at 8.Â We will keep you posted on the scores as we will be in Bolivar for the football game on Friday.Â We will cover the Ozark Tourney on Saturday.Â Tune in Friday night and we will keep you updated on both Softball and football action!
