Ava jumped out early to take a commanding 6-0 lead into the bottom of the 4th before West Plains started chipping away. The Zizzers sent 10 batters to the plate in the bottom of the fourth scoring 6 to trail only by the count of 7-6.
In the 5th Ava extended thier lead again by pushing 3 more runs across to take a 10-6 lead, but West Plains answered with 3 runs of thier own in the bottom of the 5th. The score after 5 was 10-9 Ava.
West Plains added 7 more in the 6th and took the game in dramatic comeback style with a home run and a grand slam in the same inning.
Final Score West Plains 16 Ava 10
Springfield Catholic had no problems scoring early and beat Mountian Grove by the score of 12-1.
Catholic scored 2 in the 1st, 2 in the 2nd, 3 in the 3rd and 5 in the 4th. Mountain Grove scored only once in the 3rd and the 10 run lead after 5 ininngs rule ended the season for the Panthers.
