Marshfield Boy Scouts Jonathan Lucerne and James Davis visited the Marshfield Optimist Club meeting at Country Kitchen on Monday morning, presenting the ArrowCorps 2008 National Service Project which they hope to be a part of this summer.

The Boy Scouts of America will work in conjunction with the United States Forest Service at five project sites across the country, including the Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri.

Lucerne and Davis want to be among the 5,000 volunteers participating in the project, sponsored by the National Order of the Arrow Committee. Participants must raise $250 each to help pay for accommodations, meals and recreational activities during the week long service project. Volunteers will make improvements at each site under the guidance of the Forest Service, with time allotted for recreational activities such as floating, fishing and hiking.
