Senior post players Lacey Boshe and Sara Jane Plemmons combined for 44 points and 21 rebounds, leading the unbeaten Lady Jays past state-ranked Ozark 66-52 in a basketball battle for first place in the Central Ozark Conference on Saturday.

Marshfield improved to 21-0 overall and 5-0 in the COC with the key win. Ozark fell to 4-1 in the league and 18-4 overall with a second loss this season to Marshfield.

Marshfield entered the game as the top ranked team in Missouri’s Class 4, and Ozark as the 4^th ranked team in Class 5.

Lacey Boshe scored 11 points in the opening period, helping Marshfield to a 17-8 advantage.

In the second period, 3-point shots by Alley Bruton and Jaysa Hartman helped Marshfield maintain a 32-19 halftime lead. Hartman’s second trey of the period came from beyond halfcourt at the halftime buzzer.

In the third period, Sara Jane Plemmons scored 8 points and Amada Gourley hit a pair of treys as Marshfield built a 20-point lead.

Ozark rallied, but trailed 50-35 entering the final period.

“I have to give Ozark coach Yancy Little credit, he tried different things,” Marshfield coach Gary Murphy said. “But when Ozark would make an adjustment, we were able to respond.”

Lacey Boshe was the leading scorer in the game with 26 points, hitting 11-of-15 field goals and 4-of-5 free throws. Lacey Boshe also had a game-high 11 rebounds with 5 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocked shots for Marshfield.

Sara Jane Plemmons finished with 18 points, hitting 7-of-15 field goals and 4-of-4 free throws with 10 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal in the game for the Lady Jays.

Alley Bruton added 7 points, hitting 3-of-4 field goals, including a trey, with an assist in the game for Marshfield.

Jaysa Hartman was 2-of-3 from beyond the arc, scoring 6 points with 3 rebounds and an assist in the game for the Lady Jays.

Amanda Gourley also hit 2-of-3 treys in the game for Marshfield, scoring 6 points with 2 assists, a steal and a rebound.

Morgan Smith added 3 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a blocked shot to the winning attack.

Anna Glenn finished with 4 rebounds, a steal and an assist for Marshfield.

Courtney Gimlin led a balanced Ozark scoring attack with 12 points, pulling down 4 rebounds with 2 steals and 2 assists in the game.

Hannah Gomez added 10 points, 4 rebounds, a steal, an assist and 3 blocked shots to the Lady Tigers attack.

Bri Anton also scored 10 points for Ozark with 3 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal in the game.

Khyrstyn Brumley scored 7 points in the game for the Lady Tigers with 4 rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot.

Kayla Carson scored 4 points with 3 rebounds, a steal and an assist for Ozark.

T. A. Smith finished with 2 points, 2 rebounds and a steal; Kara Dickemann and Jackie Wacha each scored 3 points and Shelby Romines had 2 rebounds and an assist for the Lady Tigers.

Marshfield will be back in action on Monday, traveling to Rogersville for another Central Ozark Conference contest.
