Marshfield traveled to Glendale tonight to take on the Falcons along with the Waynesville Tigers and the Nixa Eagles. Marshfield competes in Class 4 all of the other teams are Class 5.   In Jamboree style play each team gets 15 offensive and 15 defensive plays against each of the other teams in attendance.  The first competition of the night the Jays faced Waynesville.  Waynesville is a very good class 5 football team.  They won every scrimmage of the night and was able to hold Marshfield out of the end zone while pushing across 4 times.

In the second matchup the Jays took on the host team Glendale.  The Falcons are now being coached by Mike Mauk.  Mauk brings a high powered spread offensive look that the Jays probably wont see all year.   The Jays defense held Glendale out all 15 plays.  Our offense was able to punch it in twice.

Marshfield then took on Nixa.  The Varsity held Nixa scoreless while punching 1 in.   Nixa’s second unit did score 2 against our JV.

After the scrimmage Coach Codutti was proud of his kids fight.  ”  Our kids fought , they are fighters, that’s one thing I can’t take away from them.  That was awesome to watch.   I think what we saw tonight was a very young team coming together.” “Young kids coming together is a fun thing to watch.”

We couldn’t agree more.

Week 1 Next Friday from Ava.  We will be there, hope you are too!
