The Morrisville Panthers got off to a great start against the Lady Jays by turning a leadoff double into the only run of the game through 4 innings.
Morrisville Panther Kasey Painter started the game with a leadoff double. She advanced to 3rd when Rachel Phillips sacrificed. Painter scored on a fielders choice when Sheri Trantham hit the ball to 1st. The 1-0 score held until the 5th inning.
Sheri Trantham struck out 7 Lady Jay batters before the 5th inning got underway and was having a dominate performance.
In the fifth ElizabethCampbell gave her team some life when she got the first hit of the day getting a single to get things started. The next batter Sophomore Hannah Bigley tripled scoring Campbell and tying up the game 1-1. Then Senior Taylor Novakavich reached 1st safely scoring Bigley to take the first lead of the day 2-1.
That is all the Jays would need as Sanders shut the door and the Lady Jays win in dramatic fashion to advance to the Championship Game!
