Lady Jays JV pull away from Rogersville

The junior varsity Lady Jays exploded for 20 points in the third period, pulling away to a 45-26 Central Ozark Conference basketball victory at Logan-Rogersville High school on Monday night.

The Lady Wildcats held a slim 12-11 lead after one period as Laura Queen and Sammi Kastman each scored 3 points for Rogersville.

Marshfield tied the score at 20-20 by intermission.

In the third period, the Lady Jays got 3 field goals from Chelsea Ahrens, a pair of treys from Hannah Keeth and 5 points from Sarah Neptune in the big third period, outscoring Rogersville 20-2.

The Lady Jays JV is now 17-3 on the season.

Marshfield displayed a balanced attack.

Chelsea Ahrens scored 11 points with 8 rebounds and 4 steals in the game for Marshfield.

Kayla Baldwin added 10 points with 2 rebounds and a steal to the winning attack.

Hannah Keeth hit a pair of treys, scoring 9 points with 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and a blocked shot for the Lady Jays.

Sarah Neptune also hit a pair of treys for Marshfield, scoring 8 points with 3 rebounds, a steal and a game-high 5 assists.

Shelby Porter scored 6 points with 6 rebounds and 2 steals in the game for the Lady Jays.

Kaitlyn Murgel scored a point and had 2 rebounds and 2 steals in the game for Marshfield.

Jessie Bruton had 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 rebounds for the Lady Jays.

Justina Burney pulled down 2 rebounds for Marshfield and Pashia McCarty handed out an assist for the winners.

Bailey Braden scored 6 points and had a rebound for Rogersville.

Michelle Crawford led the Lady Wildcats on the boards, pulling down 5 rebounds with 3 steals and an assist in the game.

Laura Queen finished with 5 points, 3 steals, 2 assists and a rebound for Rogersville.

Jordan Waltbillig scored 4 points, Sammie Kastman finished with 3 points while Shannon Stiles, Makenzie Hickam, Lanae Flatness and Kendra Bach each scored 2 points for Rogersville.
