The Lady Jays traveled east of town down 38 highway to Hartville to take on the Lady Eagles to open the softball season. It was worth the trip. A total of 15 different Lady Jays saw action as they got a big win 18-1.Â
They Jays started the scoring in the 2nd by sending 13 batters to the plate and jumping out to an eight to nothing lead. The Jays added 2 more in the 3rd, 3 more in the 4th, and 5 in the fifth to finish with 18.Â
Ashton Worth got the start and pitched the first 3 innings. She faced only 9 batters striking out 5, and walking only 2. Excellent defense erased the runners and she allowed no runs. Worth left the game leading 10-0. Sanders come in and pitched great as well. Hartville scored their only run in the 4th.
Final Score   Jays 18 Eagles 1. The Jays are 1-0 on the season. Eagles are 0-1.
The JV also won by the score of 10-5.
Next game for our Ladies is tomorrow (Tuesday) at home as we host Branson. First pitch will be at 5. We will be there.
