Jennifer McGinnis pitched 6 innings of shutout ball, giving up only two hits, while racking up 7 strikeouts. The offense added plenty of runs in support, and the Jays took the COC contest by the score of 10-0 in six innings.
Marshfield’s record improves to 6-2 on the year; 3-1 in conference play.
Up next is conference foe Nixa. Coach Murphy says "Nixa has a quality ballclub and they will be a true measuring stick to see where we are at this point in the season." Nixa comes to Marshfield on Thursday and game time is 5:00.
Schedule Changes: The ladies will not be playing in the Ozark Tournament that is being made up next week, after being rain delayed last week. Ozark set the make up dates for the same time as the Norwood Tournament. Marshfield will be playing in the Norwood tournament as scheduled.
To help make up some of the missed games, Marshfield has invited Lebanon and Morrisville into town on Saturday. The event is called Marshfield Softball Saturday. The action starts at 10 am with the host Jays taking on Lebanon.
The 11:30 game will have Lebanon against Morrisville.
Marshfield will take on Morrisville at 1:00
